Buffett’s Bet

A few weeks back, the American press openly reported that Senator McCain gambled.  Now the news is covering the fact that Warren Buffett bets!  Never has the United States’ categorization of legal vs. illegal gambling seemed more absurd than it does right now.  There are no laws in place to prevent Wall Street from jeopardizing the American and world economies through reckless betting,  a problem that now requires a nearly three-quarter of a trillion dollar bankroll to fix, yet Congress and the president forbid football fans from placing bets on the NFL.  The government will spend over $2,000 for every man, woman, and child in the country through this bailout, but men and women aren’t allowed to legally place $20 bets on the Packers.  Adding to the absurdity is the fact that taxing Internet gambling could generate billions of dollars our government now needs.
